Default The Good The Bad and the..... well, you know

I would like to see my character not as a hero but as a bad guy.We have Kurzick and Luxon angle so why not good or bad? would be cool for pvp and would make intresting second way to complete the campaign. Some quests maybe added where you could choose to be bad or good but not where you have to slaughter every pesant cause only maniacs kill with out need.Ofcourse characters stance, evil or good would need to be reflected in npc's stance to words that character, would be nice in my heros dialog would change according to that as well.Evil Dunkoro would be so ...amusing to see.

Maybe the way GW2 works is, our old characters come through a time portal and seen as enemies, and players that start as Asura's will fight us, and so we get a cool side vs side game and then when you get to a certain mission you can be traitors to the humans and fight along demons (Asurans). ya know? maybe... maybe

***SPOILERS***

In prophecies you never really work for the good guys. First, in ascalon, you join with Rurik in abandoning your homeland and its people to the charr. Then you work with the white mantle, who are possibly evil. Then you work for the Vizier, up until the very last fight, who is revealed to be evil. You also act on behest of Glint, who doesn't tell you about the Lich Lord and helps you oppose the mursaat, who are actually doing the world a service.

It's really purely an accident that you do any good at all in prophecies, since the whole time you're just helping various nefarious forces.

this would probably be a pve-only thing.......where you have two or several dialogue choices. Actually there are a couple of these, one near the beginning of Kourna, one of the Building the Base objectives, where in the end you can choose to let the Kournans go or kill them. But that's hardly roleplaying.
Yeah I'd be up for adding more roleplaying depth to GW2, along the lines of Elder Scrolls. Instead it's nearly the exact same linear path for every character. That is one thing that makes the 3 chapters such a grind: you gotta do the same stuff the same way every time through.

wow the more I think about this the more I like it

ok might as well add a rant: I hope the seemingly early ending of GW1 and start of GW2 is a realization that they need to make the PVE aspect less linear, and more roleplaying options. Basically an online Oblivion, but farmable and repeatable like GW.

yeah! we're not in good or bad side when opposing the mursaat.... it's more than just good or just bad, isn't it?
perhaps being a good guy is boring. but nowadays too many people out there want to be bad guy and think they're cool, so being bad guy is equally boring, nothing special, and uninteresting.

The good guy/bad guy choice thing has been done in so many games these days, it's just not even fun anymore. I'm not sure why there's such a massive appeal to be evil, I find it a lot more uninteresting than playing as the hero. Give us the choice, and I guarantee that almost everyone will be playing as the bad guys.

So? thats what this is all about,to have a choice! Storyline is way too linear. There has to be a choice to save or not to save the stupid princess.

This... would be nice! It would open up some cool titles as well:

EVIL LINE:
Annoying
Evil
Twisted
Sadistic
Demonic

GOOD LINE:
Helpful
Good
Priestly
Saintly
Holy

It could be based on certain quests you do, yes, but you could also have the option of killing villagers or saving them while exploring. Fun!
